Fund Supporting Projects Overview
The fulfillment of a joyful life through sports
KSPO comes closer to the lives of people through its fund support projects.
KSPO carries out a variety of fund support projects for a sports welfare nation such as the fostering of recreational sports (the supports of the National Council of Sport for All and other recreational sports organizations), the fostering of professional sports (supports for Korea Sports Council, Korea Sports Association for the Disabled and other elite sports organizations), the fostering of school sports (supports for school athletic clubs and sports schools), athlete welfare businesses, and sports facility infrastructure construction (national sports centers, playground sports facility installation, soccer center/parks, sports complex facilities in agricultural and fishing villages, village sports facilities and other sports facilities) to unite all the people and enjoy healthy and happy life by making sports part of every day life through the effective operation and management of funds raised from profit-generating businesses such as cycle racing, motorboat racing and Sports ToTo.

For the period from its establishment in 1989 and up to 2006, KSPO spent a total of 1.7451 trillion Won in national sports promotion, wholesome nurturing of youths, and the Seoul Olympics commemorative projects, and plans to provide 224 billion Won in 2007. We will continue to take initiatives in building up the sports welfare society by providing efficient financial supports for recreational sports, elite sports, sports for the disabled and school sports through the enhancement of private sector opportunities such as infrastructure expansion and recreational sports program developments and expanding national involvement with the sports activities.
